CAT HAS ALWAYS ENJOYED DANCE AS A FORM OF SELF EXPRESSION AND ENTERTAINMENT. HAVING BEEN IMMERSED IN THE PERFORMING ARTS FOR MOST OF HER LIFE, SHE HAS FOUND TEACHING DANCE TO BE THE MOST CHALLENGING AND FULFILLING ART OF ALL. CAT BEGAN HER TEACHING CAREER IN 2009 AT A LOCAL FRANCHISE STUDIO. SHE CAME TO TM BALLROOM IN 2010 AS AN INDEPENDENT INSTRUCTOR, AND BECAME A MEMBER OF THE TM BALLROOM STAFF IN 2013. CAT IS VERSED IN ALL 4 STYLES OF BALLROOM DANCE, NIGHTCLUB AND COUNTRY-WESTERN.
IN 2016, CAT MADE YET ANOTHER CAREER TRANSITION TO STUDIO MANAGER AND DANCE DIRECTOR. IN THIS ROLE, SHE PLANS TO OVERSEE THE DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS OF THE STUDIO WHILE CONTINUING TO HELP PEOPLE TO ENRICH THEIR LIVES THROUGH DANCE. TO CAT, THERE IS NOTHING MORE SATISFYING THAN SEEING THE LOOK OF TRIUMPH IN HER STUDENTS' EYES WHEN THEY MASTER A NEW MOVE OR TECHNIQUE. THOSE WHO KNOW CAT WELL KNOW SHE LOVES TO MARK THESE MOMENTS WITH AN EXUBERANT HIGH-FIVE FOR A JOB WELL DONE!

As a child, Yolanda started her dance training at the Sangre de Cristo Art Center in Pueblo, Colorado, where she primarily studied classical ballet, jazz, modern, & hip-hop dance throughout the 80’s. It wasn't until the 90’s that she started dancing folklore Mexicano with the Ballet Folklorico de Colorado for 3 years. From there, Yolanda started her teaching career in 1996 with her Pro-partner when they founded the Academia de Arte Folklorico in Denver, Colorado. For the new millennia, she continued teaching folklore Mexicano in the California public schools before moving to Tucson, Arizona where she began her training for ballroom. Ten years later and back home in Colorado, she continues her love for teaching, performing, and competing in dance.
